Student Jobs in London
London is the capital of England and attracts many English and international students
every year. I do not think that there is a problem having part-time work while being a student. I think that it is a very good idea for
students to have part-time work before they graduate from their institute of education, and that they have the time and the resources to work
especially in London as it is very expensive to live. The students that are successful are the ones that learn responsibility, and are very
skilled at time management and weighing their social, working and educational life evenly. A student that can maintain a part-time job will get
income and excellent work experience first hand that cannot be earned in the classroom.
If you look at job advertisements aimed at recently graduated students companies mostly
require possible candidates to have not only the qualifications but also experience which will be a huge advantage to students, this is very true
in London. In the current working environment, employers do not always have time or the resources to coach employees in great depth. The
experienced students that request work are more probable to be employed rather than someone that hasn't experienced the real world. This is
because students with experience in their exposition of summary that have already proved that they can handle a work upon balancing the school
and other activities.
Students can gain a lot of experience from doing a part time job while they are at
University, although employers seek true experience in a particular field of work. From past experience I left my full time
job in London and I needed a new job, I began to print of my CV and send them to several different places like retailers and restaurants and
other typical part time places of work around London. I managed to get a few interviews for jobs in London, and an Italian
restaurant called Mario's was the place I really wanted to get a job at. While I was interviewed, I quickly understood that if I did
not have the experience in London they probably wouldn't have even considered me for an interview to get the job. Now I have
gained a fair bit of experience to support me and showcase my talents, when I speak with employers I have the confidence and
knowledge that will generally fire up more interest in having me for a part time job.
Some people are able to make enough money working while they are at home during the
summer, but for a lot of people, finding ways to pay rent and general student costs during University is very difficult. For many people having a
part-time job is a method of having more extra money. Therefore choosing to work while, being a student is a very important decision to
make.
